 Cenwulf 3.reinstalling the primacy of Canterbury: Cenwulf 3 king of the Mercians was advised by Æthelheard 13 and the archbishop of York, Eanbald 2, how wickedly his predecessor [Offa 7] had behaved, and brought back the old system in full; the king sent letters from himself and all the bishops of England to Leo 1, Hadrian 3's successor, and the archbishop in person actively forwarded the mission.  Leo 1.ordering the restoration of the see of Canterbury: Archbishop Æthelheard 13, by the gift of the grace of God, happened to visit the thresholds of the Apostles and Leo 1, the most blessed pope of the apostolic see, about many rights of the churches of God.
