Offa 5 (Male) King of East Angles; cf. King Offa 3 of the East Saxons
e viii

Notes: It seems unlikely that there ever was a king of the East Angles going by this name. The confusion appears to stem from a mangling of rex orientalium saxonum into rex orientalium anglorum. The latter is evidently meant in S80 and S1251 - both forgeries concerning Evesham - where Offa is associated with Cenred 1, the king with whom the king of the East Saxons went on pilgrimage to Rome in 709.
