||A Breton (Anonymous 221), travelling near the place where Oswald 1 had been killed, saw a spot which was greener than the rest of the field. Thinking that some holy man had died there, he took some soil. He then went on his way and came to a certain village, where a feast was taking place. He hung up the cloth containing the dust on one of the wall-posts. When a fire started, the whole house was burnt down with the single exception of the post.
