Description |
In the monastery at Malmesbury, centred on St Peter's church, Aldhelm 3 built two more churches, in honour of Mary Mother of God, and of St Michael. When the first one had its roof timbers fastened, one turned out too short. Aldhelm 3, moving his lips in prayer and making a gentle gesture with his arm, caused the short beam to become as long as the others. |
