||on 20 April, shortly after Cędwalla 1's baptism, in the second indiction, in the fourth year of the consulship of the Emperor Justinian, and in the second year of the papacy of Sergius 1.
*An epitaph was placed on his tomb by order of the pope. Bede 1 provides the text. @Colgrave and Mynors, pp. 470-1, it was discovered in the 16th century by the builders of the present St. Peter's, though it now seems to have disappeared.
