Persons associated with this Event:
(Abbot of Iona, born c.628; d.704)
(Gallic bishop) : He had wandered all over the promised land, but as he was returning to his native land by sea, he was cast by the violence of the tempest on to the west coasts of Britain. After many adventures he came to Adomnán 1, who eagerly listened to his words and quickly committed to write everything which Arculf 1 had seen.
(King of the Northumbrians and successor of Ecgfrith 4, 686-705) : Adomnán 1 gave the book to Aldfrith 1 and, through his kindness, it was circulated for lesser folk to read.
