(Young man from York who influenced Alcuin 1) : The young man (Anonymous 374) was stricken by a disease in his limbs and he lay sick on the edge of death. His spirit was suddenly seized and his body lay inert. After awaking from his unconscious state, Anonymous 374 told Alcuin 1 that he had been led to a beautiful place where he saw many men rejoicing, who wanted him to stay. His guide led him back and told him that he would recover at sunrise but that another brother (Anonymous 375) would die that day.
