(One of two hergas (presumably the remnants of Anonymi 1013) amongst the Northumbrians (Anonymi 1021) (the other, Anonymi 1014, was amongst the East Angles [Anonymi 996])) : The here (Anonymi 1020) thought that most of Edward 2's reinforcements were on his ships (Anonymi 1030) and that they might go unopposed wherever they wished. As they were going home they were attacked from behind by his [sc. Edward 2's] fierd from the West Saxons and Mercians (Anonymi 1029) and were put to flight.
