Event: Healing, PilgrimageSwithhun 5.post-mortem healing of ∆thelsige 19
||∆thelsige 19 sought out the holy tomb in the Old Minster with his guide, Anonymous 528. ∆thelsige 19 was overcome by a sudden onset of drowsiness and fell asleep. When he arose, he found that his muscles had been stretched by a sudden cure and every joint returned to its proper function.

(The monks of the Old Minster who are addressed in Wulfstan 37's general dedicatory letter preceding the Narratio metrica of St Swithun) : Because the miracle took place on the same day as the feast which celebrated the ordaining of St Martin into the holy rank of the episcopate and of his translation, the monks of the Old Minster (Anonymi 1607) debated over which saint's intercession made this sick man (∆thelsige 19) whole.
(Moneyer at Winchester who gave hospitality to ∆thelsige 19 for six months) : When he saw what happened, he led ∆thelsige 19 into the church and told all how the sick man had been restored to health.
