Event: Killing/murder, Miracle, PilgrimageSwithhun 5.post-mortem miracle on Anonymous 619ís chains

Scholarly Info
Description Anonymous 619 murdered his kinsman (Anonymous 620). The bishop of the town (Anonymous 621) ordered that an iron band be bound tightly around the guilty man's entire stomach and that his limbs undergo a similar torture. Anonymous 619 suffered this torture for nine years after which time he heard rumour of the miracles performed through the intercession of Swithhun 5. Anonymous 619 therefore crossed the sea and sought Winchester; he prostrated himself before Swithhun 5 and suddenly the iron bands snapped off. The bands were then hung up in the minster as proof of the miracle.
