(Author, deacon and abbot of Tours, c.735-804) : Alcuin 1 sent greetings to Joseph 2. He enquired about the activities of Charlemagne 1. He instructed Joseph 2 to send supplies to the coast, to cause Oduin 1 to bring Alcuin 1 five pounds of silver, to give five pounds of silver and garments to Anonymi 1851 and Anonymi 1852, to send other garments together with paints and dyes to Alcuin 1, to cause Eanfrith 6 to come to see Joseph 2 and for him and Frotgoneg 1 to send Alcuin 1 the money he had collected from the farm Uurmec, to give silver to Berdic 1 and others for their legation to Rome, to make gifts to his brethren (Anonymi 1853) and their infants (Anonymi 1854), and to send two cartloads of wine (if it was the best quality) to Rufus 1 for the latter to send one on to Alcuin 1 and give the other to Brorda 4.
