(Author, deacon and abbot of Tours, c.735-804) : Alcuin 1 offered spiritual counsel to Æthelred 7, Osbald 1, Osberht 3 and Anonymi 1867, including the avoidance of unjust wealth. He outlined how the king, the principes, judges of the people, the bishops and the laity should act. He stated that they should fear the blow that fell on the church of St Cuthbert.
