Notes:

*@Wilson 1918 comments (p. 20): 'The entry is in a hand very closely resembling if not identical with that of the original scribe, but the double stroke is not used in the abbreviation sign. Wilgislus was the father of St. Willibrord, who passed the latter part of his life, first as a hermit and afterwards as the head of a small community, near the mouth of the Humber. [Note: Alcuin, in his Life of St. Willibrord, says that he was himself at one time the head of the cellula formerly governed by Wilgislus. See Acta SS. Nov., III, 438.] An Epternach martyrology of later date (Paris, Bibl. Nat. MS. Lat. 10158) has the following entry regarding him, on Jan. 30. "Item in Britannia depositio sancti Wilgisli abbatis patris sancti patroni nostri Willibrordi" (Quentin, Mart. Hist., p. 234).'
