Description
King Æthelred to Æscwig, bishop (of Dorchester); confirmation of 30 hides (mansiunculae) at Monks Risborough, Bucks. The land had been sold to Æscwig by Sigeric, archbishop of Canterbury, for 90 pounds of silver and 200 mancuses of gold, in order to raise money to pay off the Danes threatening Canterbury.
