Description

King William notifies Bishop Æthelmær of Elmham, Earl Ralph, and all his thegns of Suffolk and Norfolk that it is his will that Abbot Baldwin of Bury St Edmunds hand over to him all the land of men of St Edmund’s soke who stood in battle against him and were slain. All those who were the men of the abbot’s predecessor are to hold of him as before.
