Transaction S1447    The beginning was that a woman was stolen at Yaxley from Ælfsige 58, Beorhtsige 18's son. The woman's name was Thurwif 1. Then Ælfsige 58 attached the woman in the possession of Wulfstan 25, Wulfgar 19's father. Then Wulfstan 25 vouched Æthelstan 42 of Sunbury to warranty for her. Then Æthelstan 42 declared that he would carry on the process; but he let it go by default, and failed to appear on the appointed day. After that Ælfsige 58 asked for the return of the woman, and Æthelstan 42 gave her up and paid him 2 pounds as compensation.
