Notes

Finberg 1964, pp. 22-3; Finberg, ECWM, no. 32, authentic, Milred's subscription should refer to the requirement that the minster at Twyning revert to Worcester after Æthelburh's death, as arranged by her father Alfred (cf. Mon. Angl. (rev. edn), i, 608), but this is concealed by scribal error; Finberg 1972, p. 390, on river-name; Lapidge 1975, pp. 800, 815; Whitelock, EHD, p. 503; Sims-Williams 1990, p. 37 n. 113, pp. 132, 158; cf. S 1429
