Discussion of the name

Leofhild is an Old English feminine name comprising the elements lēof ‘dear’ and hild ‘war, combat’; it does not appear in surviving records until after the Conquest.

The only entry in the PASE corpus is for Leofhild 1, a catch-all for occurrences in DB; a Leofilde also occurs as the subject of a Devon manumission of the late eleventh century (Pelteret 1990: 110).
