Discussion of the name

Beorhtflæd is an Old English feminine name comprising the elements beorht ‘bright, distinguished, pure’ and flæd ‘beauty’.

The only entry in the PASE corpus is for Beorhtflæd 1, a catch-all for occurrences in DB, although Searle (1897: 88) notes that it also occurs in the Durham Liber Vitae, and it is associated with a minor name in a Kent charter (S 885).
