Discussion of the name
Bosi is an Old Norse or Old Danish masculine name and is the most probable interpretation of the DB forms because the Old English name Bosa is not recorded after the late ninth century (Redin 1919: 86, 132; von Feilitzen 1937: 207); there is also one instance in DB where Bosi occurs as an erroneous spelling for the name Bisi. The only entry in the PASE corpus is for Bosi 1, a catch-all for occurrences in DB.
