Discussion of the name

Colwin is a masculine name of uncertain derivation but is perhaps an anglicized form of an Old Cornish name with guyn ‘white, fair, pleasant’ as the second element (Förster 1966: 46, 50 n41; von Feilitzen 1937: 218-19; cf. Padel 1985: 120).

The only entry in the PASE corpus is for Colwin 1, a catch-all category for occurrences of this name in DB.
