Wynric is an Old English masculine name formed from the elements wynn, ‘joy, rapture, pleasure’, and rīc, ‘ruler’ (von Feilitzen 1937: 429). The second element is very common in personal names, the first very rare, and no other persons called Wynric are currently recorded in PASE.
