Wihtnoth is an Old English masculine name comprising the elements wiht ‘person, creature, being’ and nōð ‘bold, daring’.There are three entries for this name in the PASE corpus, of which Wihtnoth 1 witnessed an eighth-century Kent charter, Wihtnoth 2 witnessed one relating to land in Dorset in 1033 and Wihtnoth 3 is a catch-all category for instances in DB; there is also Wisnod 1, a catch-all for this form in DB.
