Discussion of the name

Tubbi is a short form of the Old Norse or Old Danish name Thorbiorn, comprising the elements Þórr, the god’s name, and bjorn ‘bear’ (von Feilitzen 1937: 388; Fellows Jensen 1968: 285, 301).

The only entry in the PASE corpus is for Tubbi 1, a catch-all for occurrences in DB. There are also entries for Thorbiorn 1 and Turbern 1 (a variant form), both of them also DB catch-alls, and two entries for Thorbjorn, representing charter occurrences in 1066 and 1072.
