Discussion of the name

The Old English masculine name or names Bicca and Bica are of uncertain meaning, although the latter is probably related to OE bica ‘beak, point’.

There are two instances of Bicca and three of Bica in the PASE corpus. Bicca 2 is a catch-all category for occurrences of this name in DB and three of the remaining four instances occur between the late seventh and the early ninth centuries.
