Discussion of the name

Tepekin is a Continental Germanic masculine name, probably comprising a hypocoristic form of a name such as Theodbald (or some other compound of thioda‑ ‘folk, people’ with a second element beginning with ‑b) to which a diminutive ‑kin was added, along the lines of the similar name Tidechin (von Feilitzen 1937: 383; cf. Förstemann 1900: 1413; Morlet 1968: 71).

There are no pre-Domesday occurrences of this name in the PASE corpus.
