Palli is an Old Danish masculine name derived either from ODan páll ‘pole’ or a diminutive of the Latin name Paulus and is related to the ODan name Palni(r) (von Feilitzen 1937: 343; Björkman 1973: 108).

The PASE corpus has entries for Palli 1, a catch-all category for occurrences of this name in DB, and for Pallig 1, the viking leader and brother-in-law of Swein Forkbeard who died in 1002.
