Discussion of the name

Fridebern is a Continental Germanic masculine name comprising the elements fridu ‘peace’ and beren ‘man, warrior’, although linguistic or scribal ambiguities mean that some forms of Fridebern and Fridebert are confused in DB (Forssner 1916: 93; von Feiltizen 1937: 253-4; Dodgson 1985: 43).
