Epi is an Old Danish masculine name, perhaps originating as a byname developed from øpa ‘to scream, yell’ (Bjorkman 1910: 37; Fellows Jensen 1968: 341). There are no pre-Domesday occurrences of this name in the PASE corpus.Bibliography
