Godeza is the feminine form of the Continental Germanic name Godizo, itself a diminutive form of a name with got ‘god’ or guot ‘good’ as first element (Forssner 1916: 121; von Feilitzen 1937: 264).

There are no pre-Domesday occurrences of this name in the PASE corpus.
