Heremar is a Continental Germanic masculine name comprising the elements heri ‘army’ and mâri ‘marvellous, famous’ (Forssner 1916: 151).There are three entries for forms of this name in the PASE corpus: Hermer 1 was a priest entered in the Durham Liber Vitæ after c.840 while Hermar 1 and Hermer 2 are catch-all categories for occurrences in DB.
