Discussion of the name

Asmoth is an Old Danish feminine name comprising the elements ás ‘god’ and móðr ‘excitement, wrath’, with DB forms suggesting that móðr has been replaced by the corresponding Old English mōd and one form (Amod) showing loss of s before a consonant under French influence (von Feilitzen 1937: 106-7, 164-5, 168; Insley 1994: 65-6).

The only entry in the PASE corpus is for Asmoth 1, a catch-all for occurrences of this name in DB.
