Discussion of the name
Barni is an Old Norse masculine name that probably originated as a side-form of the name Barn, itself probably derived from barn ‘child’ and originating as a byname (von Feilitzen 1937: 192; Fellows Jensen 1968: 48-9).The only entry in the PASE corpus is Barni 1, a catch-all for occurrences in DB.
