Discussion of the name
Ceolric is a masculine OE name formed from the elements cēol (‘keel, ship’) and rīc (‘ruler’). Only three persons of the name are currently recorded in PASE, two (who may be identical) living in the early eleventh century (Ceolric 2, Ceolric 3), the third also from the later Anglo-Saxon period (Ceolric 1).Bibliography
