Discussion of the name

Fiacc is a masculine name of Irish origin, usually normalized in Irish texts for the Middle Irish period as Fiachu. Two Irish contemporaries of the Domesday Fiacc are named in the Irish annals as dying in 1042 and 1066 (O’Brien 2006). The cultural context for the adoption of the name in England was the close links between York and Dublin in the early and middle tenth century.
