Discussion of the name

Ragenhild is a normalized head-form representing either the Old Norse masculine name Ragnhildr, comprising the elements ragn ‘ruling power, advice, the gods’ and hildr ‘battle’, or the feminine form Ragnhilda; the DB spellings with ‘a’ render the Old Danish form Regnild unlikely (von Feilitzen 1937: 347; Fellows Jensen 1968: 213-15).

The only entry in the PASE corpus is for Regnild 1, a catch-all using the Old Danish form for occurrences in DB.
