Discussion of the name
Rotlesc is a masculine name of unknown origin; Forssner’s suggestion that it represented a form of Old Norse (H)rosske(ti)ll has not met with general acceptance (Forssner 1916: 288; cf. von Feilitzen 1937: 350).The only entry in the PASE corpus is for Rotlesc 1, a catch-all category for occurrences in DB.
