Withi is an Old Danish masculine name, possibly a weak form of a byname corresponding to Old Norse viðr ‘tree, wood’ (von Feilitzen 1937: 407; Smith 1956: ii 232; Fellows Jensen 1968: 333).There are no pre-Domesday occurrences of this name in the PASE corpus.
