Discussion of the name
The name represented by the DB spelling Wordrou is uncertain, although a first element related to Old Breton Uuoret-, Old Welsh Guoret-, Guord-, and a second element -rou representing an unidentified byname have both been suggested (von Feilitzen 1937: 417; Thorn and Thorn 1985: DB 24,17 Notes). There is no relevant entry in the PASE corpus except for Wordrou 1, a catch-all category for occurrences of this spelling in DB.
