Discussion of the name

Yric is most probably an Old English form of the Old Norse masculine name Øyríkr, Eyríkr, but easily confused with ON Eiríkr, which is usually Anglicized as Erik (von Feilitzen 1937: 299-300; cf. Fellows Jensen 1968: 76).

The only occurrence of the name Yric in the PASE corpus is Yric 1, a noble from the early eleventh century; there are, however, entries for Erik 1, a catch-all category for those appearing in DB, and five entries for the name Eric. The corpus in PASE and DB is too small to allow comment on the distribution of the name Yric.
