Mainard is a Continental Germanic masculine name comprising the elements magan ‘strength, power’ and hart ‘hard’ (Forssner 1916: 181).

The only entries in the PASE corpus are for Maginhard 1-2, an early tenth-century moneyer active at an unspecified mint, and Mainard 1, a catch-all category for occurrences of this name in DB.
