Wulfgyth is an Old English feminine name comprising the elements wulf ‘wolf’ and gyð ‘combat, battle, war’; confusion with some forms of the masculine name Wulfgeat is possible if the gender of the bearer is not known (von Feilitzen 1937: 280-1, 419-20).There are six entries under Wulfgyth in the PASE corpus, of which Wulfgyth 1-5 occur between c.901 and c.1053 and Wulfgyth 6 is a catch-all category for occurrences in DB.
