Discussion of the name

Goldstan is an Old English masculine name comprising the elements gold ‘gold’ and stān ‘stone, rock, gem’.

The only entries in the PASE corpus are for Goldstan 1, a catch-all for occurrences in DB, and the moneyers Goldstan 2-5, of whom Goldstan 2-3 were active in Lewes 973-85, Goldstan 4 was active in Salisabury 1036-7 and Goldstan 5 was active in Wilton 1036-40.
