Profile

Bradwell, on the claylands of north Buckinghamshire, was divided into three portions in DB, the largest of which was a manor shared by the thegns Sibbi and Godwine, who were commended to Alric son of Goding but had full control of their land. Bradwell is 30 miles from Little Missenden in south Buckinghamshire, where the TRE holder was commended to a man whose father was called Sibbi (Sibbi 5), but there is no reason to suppose that the two Sibbis were identical.
