Profile
The identification of Topi 6’s tiny estate is not certain but the DB and Exon place-name forms together with the Exon order of entries point to Wilson in Witheridge parish, on a hill between two tributary streams of the Little Dart River in north Devon (Reaney 1935: lvi; Thorn & Thorn 1985: DB 16,146 Notes). If so then it was one of numerous small and dispersed holdings in the area.In any event, Topi 6’s holding in Devon was far from any other attributed to that name in DB and, despite the rarity of the name, there is no reason to consider him in connection with anyone else.
