Heardwulf 5’s estate was one of at least three small estates in north-central Devon called ‘Bradley’ in DB; his ½ hide probably lay at, or included, West Bradley (Thorn and Thorn 1985: 3,79 Notes), on Bradley Down to the west of Tiverton.

There is no evidence to connect Heardwulf 5 with either of the other two people recorded in DB who shared the same and apparently extremely rare personal name.
