The main DB entry for Marden (Herefs. 1:4) also contains information about William fitzNorman’s subholding at Marden; it does not name his predecessors but says that three radknights had held TRE and could not withdraw from the manor. This shows that Stenulf 7 was a tenant of the royal manor and owed riding-services to the king.
