Profile

Magni 2 shared with Leofa 13 one of three estates TRE that appear to represent the divisions of an earlier 10-hide estate at Waresley in the low hills of south Huntingdonshire.  Magni and Leofa held the smaller of the two estates described as manors in DB and the one which was associated with the local church from 1086 onwards if not before (Page et al. 1932: 376-9).  The way in which the two men shared or divided the manor is unknown, as is whether they were related in any way; indeed, it is not even certain that Leofa 13 was male rather than female (von Feilitzen 1937: 310).

This was Magni 2’s only recorded estate.  The only other estate held TRE by someone of that name lay nearly 70 miles away and there is no reason to associate Magni 2 with any other estate or person.
