Oakley and Walton, however, were only 6 miles apart in the poor uplands of Staffordshire, Oakley on the upper river Tern where it forms part of the boundary with Shropshire, Walton on high land to the east. DB notes that Aki had given 1 carucate of land at Walton (in a vill of 3 hides with land for 6 ploughs) to his sister, whom it does not name.
