Although Babraham was relatively close to two clusters of estates held TRE by various people called Leomær or Leodmær (one between 6½ and 20 miles away to the east, mainly in north Essex, and the other between 18 and 23 miles away in east Bedfordshire and north-west Hertfordshire), none of these was associated with Earl Gyrth nor did any hold an estate that, like Babraham, had passed to the Countess Judith (Judith 3) by 1086. Taking these factors together with the very small size of the Babraham estate, it seems more likely than not that this was Leomær 8’s only estate.
